What if I cannot order shoes in person?

A.

You can email or U.S. mail your measurements to us. Simply follow the instructions on our website, send us your measurements, choice of leather or suede, choice of color and indicate your regular shoe size, along with a check made out to Duran Shoes.   We also accept PayPal.   Once we receive your funds, we will purchase materials and start building your shoe.

Please note: we do not accept faxed or text measurements.

What do you recommend for casual dancing?

A.

Our Flamenco style shoes are suitable for dancing. Instead of the nails and rubber underneath, we would mount smooth leather, enabling you to easily glide across the dance floor and make graceful turns with ease. We insert metal strips to give you secure arch support. For maximum comfort and endurance, we never use a heel higher than 2-1/2”. There are 5 styles to choose from.

Do you make ballet slippers?

No, we do not work with satin. We recommend Capezio for American or French Ballet dancing.

Do you make shoes for clogging?

A.

We do not make nor do we repair shoes for clogging. Please note that if you bought Tap Dance shoes from us and use them for clogging, we are not responsible for any damages, and we know what to look for.

Do you make aluminum, alloy, and composite or steel-toe shoes?

A.

At this time we do not carry the materials to produce safety footwear. Steel-toe boots or shoes require oil resistant outsoles, which require a different industrial sewing machine to build. Our focus is dance shoes for the stage floors.

What do you charge for repairs

A.

Since everyone wears out their shoes differently, we ask that you bring the shoes in or email us a picture so that we can give you a quote.

What do you charge to mount taps on shoes?

A.

We charge $22.00 to mount all 4 taps on 1 pair of shoes.   If the shoes are not from Duran’s, we have to take a look at the sole before we can give a quote.

Do you offer discounts for multiple pairs?

A.

Very good question. We are not a cookie cutter operation. We make each shoe by hand, and currently there are only 2 employees building the shoes. Therefore, we cannot mass-produce at a higher rate of speed.

However, we frequently have sales. Check our website for the latest discounts!

How much is Shipping & Handling?

Our Handling charge is $6.75, and our Shipping fee depends on the destination- anywhere between $9.50 to $20.00

Do I receive an invoice after ordering?

An invoice is released in the form of a receipt sent via email.

What is your Exchange and Return Policy?

A.

Purchased at Store: We are using ONLY YOUR measurements. If your shoes or boots are too big or too small, we will adjust, will reshape or make another leather topsole.

Mail Order: If you send or email us your measurements that were executed by you, we use only those measurements as our guide. We do not add or subtract inches in length or width. If your shoes do not fit, we can only make adjustments. That is why we ask that you please follow the measurement guide carefully. These are custom made shoes. Thank you for understanding.

Deposits: If you change your mind about an order after we cut the leather, we reserve the right to keep your deposit. All deposits are forfeited after 7 calendar days from the date of order.

May I cancel my order?

Yes you can IF you contact us as soon as possible. Deposits are NOT refundable 7 days after you placed your order in person (or 7 days from the date we received your electronic order).

 

Exclusions from Refunds and Exchanges

The following situations are excluded from refund or exchange:

- Changing your mind about an item.

- Deciding you do not like the item.

- Deciding you no longer have a need for the item.

- Discovering you can buy the shoes cheaper elsewhere.

- Damaging the shoes

- Gift certificates are not returnable and not redeemable for cash

Very good question.  They certainly appreciate cash tips and thoughtful gifts of gratitude, but please no alcoholic beverages.
